Intraocular lenses
Intraocular lenses are made from biocompatible polymers. They are implanted into the respective capsular bag, to replace the person’s eye lens, where they remain permanently.
The lenses are always tolerated very well. The correct lens strength is determined for each patient prior to the surgery using a special measuring method.
Standard lens
Its advantages:
-
Clear vision following surgery
-
Sharp distance vision without glasses following surgery, provided there is no corneal irregularity
-
Close range will still require glasses
Standard lens "plus"
Additional advantages:
-
Lifelong protection of the macula (central retina/yellow spot) against damaging blue light and UV rays
-
Reduced glare sensitivity
Continuation standard lens "Plus"
The other advantages:
-
This lens has an aspherical optic, which enables better vision in poor light conditions (e.g. while driving a car at night)
-
The standard lens "Plus" is made of a hydrophobic material of the latest generation. This material reduces the occurrence of "secondary cataract" and remains crystal clear for a lifetime.
-
For patients who opt for a standard "Plus" lens, additional preliminary examinations are carried out to enable the most precise possible calculation of the lens power.
-
The additional costs for this lens and the associated preliminary examinations are billed to the patient privately (CHF 190 per eye).
Premium lenses as a long-term alternative to standard lenses
Even after implanting a standard lens, glasses are still required for close range - and in the event of corneal irregularity, also for sharp distance viewing. Premium lenses are an alternative to standard lenses and allow you to live without glasses. Even with corneal irregularity. more >>>
